News reaching us indicates that Uganda’s biggest business mogul, Sudhir Ruparelia, chairman Ruparelia Group has been nominated for a prestigious award in USA.
The event shall take place in Washington DC, USA in June this year. The Award is given to private employers who employ more women than men normally in thousands across Africa.
Sudhir was reportedly selected because he is the third biggest female employer in Africa and it’s alleged that out of the 7,000 employees across Sudhir’s business entities, over 65% are females.
The prestigious award comes along with a cash prize of $1m (over sh3.5bn) and Sudhir is likely to triumph because his company mainly focuses on the success of women. On top of the $1m, a winner nominates his/her most loyal employee (female) who also bags $100,000 (over sh350m).
