Following the death of a Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) cleaner who was knocked dead on a Sunday morning by a reckless driver, KCCA spokesperson Peter Kaujju has identified the name of the deceased as Jamilah Babita.
Speaking to Watchdog, Kaujju said Babita has been working along Kira Road.
“Very sad indeed. We lost Jamilah Babita one us who has been working along Kira Road. We have always urged motorists to drive carefully and respect other road users including those that make the city clean . May her soul Rest In Peace. Police is holding the suspect as we work with the late’s family on the funeral,” Kaujju said.
The reckless premio driver was apprehended by civilians as he tried to escape. He was handed to Kira Police station.
