The international cross country marathon on Sunday put Uganda on the athletes’ map.
While at Kololo, a neighbor who I learned is South African asked me where in Uganda he could enjoy world class hospitality services before he leaves the country.
I didn’t hesitate.
“Check Speke Resort Munyonyo, you’ll thank me later,” I told him. He searched the place on his Google, and read some trip advisor literature. He agreed with me, promising to check out the best hospitality facility in the country which indeed gives you a true Ugandan experience coming with a touch of class.
So why did I recommend Speke Resort Munyonyo of all places around town?
The resort is located on the shores of Lake Victoria and spreads over 70 acres of lying green area. The only hotel close to such is Lake Victoria Serena. But that is far away.
Speke Resort which is conveniently located 12km from Kampala city, 15 minutes drive from City center and 45 minutes from Entebbe airport, offers a unique blend of both Ugandan and international hospital.
The hotel has a great spacious location, amazing scenery, world class rooms, Olympic size swimming pool and fresh water lake.
A variety of continental and local food in five star restaurants is prepared and served by professionals.
Many people who prefer to hold conferences outside the busy city centre, but also so near the city, choose Speke also for its well equipped conference facilities. And you can as well work out in a gym or relax in a sauna. There’s also a big marina and equestrian centre with around 30 horses. And you can get golf cart rides to move around the huge complex.
Since 2007 when Speke Resort hosted the prestigious Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), the hotel has enjoyed massive positive reviews, and its suites include high end presidential suites, executive suites, as well as cottages.
For conferences you’ll realize that the 1,200 seater Victoria Ball room is unmatched in grandeur, equipment and internet speeds.
No wonder Speke Resort hotel remains the place for the class with class. Those wanting a special experience in the Pearl of Africa, it’s a place to be.
