Amama Mbabazi and Justine Kasule Lumumba are the only people who have served as the ruling party’s secretary generals. However, the two have not been at best of relations since Amama was elbowed out of the party he helped found.
It’s understand at the beginning of Lumumba’s service, and the new secretary general was in offensive against her predecessor who she thought was undermining her leadership through proxies.
However on Monday morning, the two leaders in the church walls at Rubaga cathedral where they had gone to take part in the requiem mass of the fallen assistant inspector general of police Andrew Felix Kaweesi. The two exchanged pleasantries and spoke briefly before moving to sit near one another for some time.
