Police launches new operation ‘Tembeya Muzuri’ to combat bad road users

Uganda Police Force has launched a new operation called Tembeya Muzuri to combat road accidents in and out of Kampala.

Among the issues to be looked at during the operation  shall be; expired driving permits, driving without driving permits, expired third party insurance, overall vehicle condition, worn out tires, reckless driving , overspeeding, defaulters of traffic penalties, driving without seat belts and talking on phone while driving.

All the above cases apart from expired third party insurance shall involve being arraigned to courts of law with fines between shs600,000 to shs3 million.

Police has advised all road users to be vigilant and observe traffic rules to avoid falling victims.

Last year police launched operation fika salama on various highways especially Masaka road and the operation for the past months has managed to reduce road accidents in the highest way possible.
