Forum for Democratic Change (FDC)’s former presidential candidate, Dr. Kizza Besigye has refuted claims by NTV Uganda that his party is planning to amend its constitution to allow former leaders return and vie for top positions.

According to NTV, the plan is to change clauses in the constitution to allow former FDC leaders have another go at leadership positions within the party.

“There are suspicions in some quarters that the amendment is meant to pave the way former party president, Kizza Besigye, to contest,” NTV wrote.

However, Besigye has responded to claims saying that he has heard the allegations for the first time on NTV adding that he does not support it and if changed he will never run for FDC president.

“I’ve heard this for the first time on NTV! I don’t support it and if changed , I’ll never run for FDC president,” Besigye tweeted.
