The Government has appealed the decision of the 28th May judgement which stated that Gen David Sejusa should leave the military. The High Court ruled that the military was no longer responsible for the livelihood of the general and therefore should make him a free man. The court also awarded Sejusa Sh750 million in damages.

At the time of the ruling Sejusa had cases at the military court martial. Now government wants the cases to resume, including, his utterance of partisan statements in contravention of the UPDF act which bars serving officers from participating in partisan politics.
