Singer Crescent Baguma aka Beenie Gunter has bowed to pressure and admitted that he fathered a child and then abandoned him.
Recently, a woman identified as Fiona Akankwasa appeared on several media platforms claiming that she used to have an intimate relationship with Beenie Gunter which later resulted into a baby, but the singer had refused to take care of his child.
Akankwasa who currently works as a housemaid said that things were so good between them as they used to hangout a lot but their relationship hit a dead end when she conceived as the singer started avoiding her, blocking her calls, among other things. And that all she wanted from Beenie is for him to take care of his son.
Despite Akankwasa’s claims, Beenie maintained that all what was being said was baseless aimed at destroying his public image.
“Don’t worry, people throw rocks at thing that shine. Rumours didn’t define who you are, always remember that,” he shared on social media on Friday.
Possibly after hearing that the State Minister for Youths and Children Affairs Nakiwala Kiyingi had jumped on his case, and even sighting the possibility of forcing him into doing a DNA test, the singer finally admitted being the child’s father.
In a phone conversation on Friday with Akankwasa’s relative, Beenie accepted that he is the child’s father and even gave him a name. the ‘Pon Mi’ singer also agreed to take care of his son.
Beenie recently had a meeting with Akankwasa and her husband Dennis Muganga to settle the issue at hand, and possibly the meeting has started to yield positive results.
