Radio DJ claims Uganda Entertainment Awards last night the worst ever

Radio DJ Abdu Wasike has stung Uganda Entertainment Awards that took place on Friday evening.

Below is his Facebook post that fortunately captures the gist of terribly organized awards which were unfortunately live on TV.
………..

“Hate or love me, I will humbly say, have never attended bogus and disorgainsed awards like Uganda Entertainment Awards (UEA)… I accept its a good idea to award those who have excelled but I don’t know why the orgainsers keep sinking their own product every year… Is it in our DNA that we can’t learn from our previous mistakes?

Actually l didn’t feel l was attending Ugandan awards. They were more of Nigerian awards with the rate Nigeria’s music was being played… Bobi Wine & Winnie Nwagi win an award & the production guy plays Wiz Kid & Justin Bieber’s songs as if they didn’t have their own music… The show was so flat… And have never seen Fenon Records at their worst like at these awards… The production guy was not synchronizing well with the guys on stage…

And looks like some of our so called ‘Celebs’ who got on stage to present awards were half drunk & didn’t know what they were doing… What was the essence of bringing Zahara (Miss Uganda) on stage to present an award & Bushbaby ended up presenting all the three awards… Zahara looked like a fool on that stage & indeed left in shame…
You announce best radio presenter ‘male’ & then present ‘female’… You announce ‘Nandujja’ next on stage & ‘Navio’ shows up… Jack Pemba, who was a sponsor ends up awarding himself… Kwegamba it was a real ‘Quagmire’…

But kudos to Patrick Idringi Salvado who brought life into the event midway… And to get to my nerves well, Mary Bata shows up on the female artist of the year shortlist oba how??? Still asking myself how Karungi Sheebah missed out on that artist of the year award… Thought this was her year… And to sink it in, the guest performer ‘Yemi Alade’ shows up to perform one & a half song… And since when did media houses start sponsoring awards that they are nominated in (conflict of interest at play)… If Pam or HiPipo Awards were or are bad, UEA Awards are worse…
