Minister Kiwanda finally launches the 2017 Equator Tourism Expo

State minister for Tourism, Godfrey Kiwanda Suubi has finally launched the 2017 Equator Tourism Expo.

Speaking to the press at the launch that took place on Tuesday afternoon at the ministry of tourism boardroom, Kiwanda emphasized the relevance of tourism industry to the country.

He said that very many people come from abroad just to experience what it means to be in between the two hemispheres where one leg is on the side of the equator as well as the other.

The equator expo is organized by Think tank target Uganda which came up with the idea of utilizing the equator as the biggest source of tourism.

Some of the activities that Think tank target have organized with the ministry of tourism during this expo are a 6KM stop before Kayabwe where the source of the equator is. In the place there shall be photo moments  plus activities  like music dance and drummer, lamenting about the beauty of Africa.

The pearl of Africa in known to be one of the top tourism attractions in the world and many business men have already set up places where to do business on the equator expo weak.

The minister however emphasized the need for the government to pay off some of the land owner’s around the equator in order to make this whole place a government property.

“We have taken so long without noticing the gold in the country. This is the time. And we have begun with the equator” stated Kiwanda.

The equator tourism expo is slated to take place from the 19 to 25 March, 2017 on a ceremony that will be closed by H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the president of the republic of Uganda.
