As a representative of the people of Kitgum and a proud advocate for women’s empowerment, I am delighted to extend my warmest congratulations to the Speaker of Parliament of Uganda, Rt Hon Anita Annet Among, and her husband Mr. Moses Magogo on the birth of their beautiful twins. This joyous occasion is an attestation to the strength and resilience of women in leadership roles and serves as an inspiration to all.

The birth of twins is a momentous occasion that brings immense joy and happiness to any family. It is a double blessing that fills the hearts of parents with love and gratitude. For Rt Hon Anita Among and Mr Moses Magogo, this milestone is not only a personal triumph but also a celebration of their commitment to balancing their professional and personal lives.

Rt Hon Anita Among has been an exemplary leader, serving as the Speaker of Parliament of Uganda with utmost dedication and integrity. Her relentless commitment to upholding the principles of democracy and ensuring the voices of the people are heard is meritorious. Despite the demanding nature of her role, she has managed to maintain a strong work-life balance, proving that women can excel in both their careers and personal lives.

The birth of twins to Rt Hon Anita Among and Moses Magogo is a significant milestone for women’s empowerment in Uganda. It showcases that women can successfully steer the challenges of leadership while embracing the joys of motherhood. This achievement serves as an inspiration to aspiring female leaders, encouraging them to pursue their dreams without compromising their desire to start a family.

As a society, it is crucial that we continue to support and uplift working mothers. Rt Hon Anita Among’s ability to balance her responsibilities as a leader and a mother is a testament to the significance of providing adequate support systems for women in leadership positions. By implementing policies that promote flexible working hours, affordable childcare, and equal opportunities, we can create an environment where women can thrive both personally and professionally.

In Conclusion, On behalf of the people of Kitgum, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Rt Hon Anita Among and Hon Moses Magogo on the birth of their twins. This joyous occasion is a testament to their love, resilience, and unwavering commitment to their respective roles. May this new chapter in their lives be filled with endless love, happiness, and fulfillment.

The writer, Hon. Dr. Lillian Aber, is the Woman MP of Kitgum District, General Secretary of the NRM caucus in Parliament, and the Vice Chairperson of the Northern Uganda Region of the MK movement.
