Police in Rubanda is investigating circumstances under which a 71 years old man was murdered by yet to be identified people.
The deceased has been identified as John Basigaire a resident of Hamurwa ward, Hamurwa Town council Rubanda district.
It’s alleged that on Friday afternoon , the deceased left home and went to Ikumba village Shebeya parish Hamurwa sub county, the neighboring village for social evening and never returned home.
On Saturday morning, his body was found in a trench of water at the road side of the swamp at Ikumba – Hamurwa cell enroute to his home.
Elly Maate,the Kigezi regional police spokesperson says the hunt for killers has commenced.
“The murder csse was reported at Hamurwa Police Station by Koshaba Wenceslaus 36 years of Hamurwa cell. The body was taken to Kabale regional referral hospital for postmortem,” Maate said.
