President Museveni has identified extra-judicial killings by the army, extortion at roadblocks, poaching in National Parks, embezzlement of public funds as the major problems associated with corruption.
He also cited bribery and nepotism among the vices that have hindered the country’s fight against graft.
The President made the remarks while officially commissioning the Anti-Corruption Unit offices of State House. The offices of the Unit, under the leadership of Lt. Col. Edith Nakalema, is located on the fourth floor of the Parliamentary Building in Kampala.

The President, however, said extortion, poaching and embezzlement were dealt with immediately the National Resistance Movement took over political power in 1986.
Now is the time to tackle the remaining ones, he said, pointing out that accounting officers are largely responsible for corruption in the mainstream offices.
“With this campaign, if money is stolen, these are the people I will come for,” he said.
The President warned the corrupt people to stop blackmail and reminded them that so many Ugandans are educated and can easily replace those corrupt people once they don’t change.
He called on the media and the general public to join the fight against corruption by exposing the corrupt officials.
