Uganda Baati Limited, a leading manufacturer of roofing and building solutions, has appointed Timothy Luzinda as its new Marketing Manager, effective August 2025. Luzinda’s appointment signals a strategic move by the company to enhance its marketing efforts and consolidate its leadership position in Uganda’s competitive construction industry.

Timothy Luzinda brings to Uganda Baati a wealth of experience accumulated over an 18-year career in marketing, brand management, and commercial leadership, primarily within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector. His extensive background in driving impactful marketing campaigns and launching successful products is expected to inject fresh energy and innovation into Uganda Baati’s marketing strategies.

Before joining Uganda Baati, Luzinda served as the Head of Marketing at Crown Beverages Limited (CBL), the PepsiCo franchise in Uganda, from 2008 to 2023. During this 15-year tenure, he played a pivotal role in transforming the brand landscape for CBL. He spearheaded high-profile campaigns and product launches, including the introduction of globally recognized beverages such as Mountain Dew, Sting Energy Drink, and Aquafina Water to the Ugandan market.

One of Luzinda’s most notable achievements was leading the repositioning of Pepsi Cola in Uganda, reviving the brand’s relevance and appeal in a fiercely competitive sector. Moreover, he championed the “Forever Connected” initiative, which promoted the returnable glass bottle concept, successfully generating UGX 21 billion in revenue and demonstrating his ability to blend sustainability with commercial success.

In addition to his leadership at Crown Beverages, Luzinda served as a Sales and Marketing Consultant at Wavah Water Limited, where he conducted a comprehensive business system audit and introduced innovative distribution channels to improve market penetration. This consultancy role further sharpened his skills in strategic marketing and operational improvements.

Timothy’s career began in advertising, where he managed campaigns for prominent clients including Celtel Uganda and Uganda Breweries Limited. His foundation in advertising equipped him with a deep understanding of consumer behavior, media management, and brand positioning, which have been instrumental throughout his career.

Academically, Luzinda holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University, one of Uganda’s premier institutions of higher learning. He is also a certified member of the Uganda Marketers Society, reflecting his commitment to professional development and adherence to industry best practices.

At Uganda Baati Limited, Luzinda’s mandate is clear: to strengthen the company’s marketing strategy, accelerate customer engagement, and deepen its market leadership. His appointment underscores Uganda Baati’s continued investment in marketing as a critical driver of growth and competitive advantage in the building solutions sector.

Uganda Baati’s leadership expressed optimism that Luzinda’s expertise would propel the company to new heights, particularly as the construction and real estate sectors continue to expand in Uganda and the East African region. His role will involve integrating innovative marketing approaches, leveraging digital platforms, and fostering strong customer relationships to sustain the company’s brand prominence.

As Uganda Baati looks ahead to future growth, Timothy Luzinda’s arrival marks the beginning of a new chapter focused on strategic marketing excellence and industry leadership. His proven track record and visionary approach position him well to help Uganda Baati navigate an evolving market and continue delivering value to customers across Uganda.
