Liberty Life Assurance Uganda has launched the Kuza School Challenge, a revolutionary initiative designed to empower the next generation with critical financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills.

This monumental event, filled with excitement and optimism, promises to reshape the educational landscape in Uganda.

The initiative was launched at Kabojja International School. Students filed into the auditorium, the air buzzed with anticipation. The day began with a vibrant ceremony, where colorful banners adorned the walls, celebrating the challenge’s mission: to instill a profound understanding of financial discipline among Uganda’s youth.

With only 32% of the population deemed financially literate, this initiative addresses a pressing need to equip students with the tools to navigate their economic futures.

Danish Mohammad Eqbal, the Principal Officer/CEO of Liberty Life Assurance took the stage, exuding energy and purpose. “Today marks the beginning of a financial revolution!” he declared, urging students to embrace creativity and resourcefulness. “Your challenge is not just to think about profit, but to craft solutions that uplift your community!”

The Kuza School Challenge encourages students to channel their entrepreneurial spirit into addressing societal issues. As Eqbal elaborated, the students would need to develop business proposals that not only demonstrate innovation but also provide real benefits to their local communities. “This is your chance to be change-makers,” he emphasized, igniting a fire of ambition among the eager audience.

The event featured interactive workshops, where students engaged in hands-on activities designed to hone their financial management skills. Experts in finance and entrepreneurship were on hand to guide the young minds, encouraging them to think critically about budgeting, saving, and investing. The atmosphere was electric, filled with the sound of brainstorming and collaborative discussions.

Anna Sundell, the headteacher of Kabojja International School, passionately spoke about the significance of the challenge. “This program is not just about business; it’s about cultivating a sense of social responsibility,” she said, her voice filled with conviction. “We want our students to realize that they hold the power to impact their communities positively.”

The challenge will unfold over the school year, culminating in a grand finale where students will present their business ideas. Winners will be awarded UGX 2 million each to kickstart their enterprises, alongside invaluable mentorship from industry leaders. The excitement of competition mingled with the desire to create positive change, setting the stage for a thrilling journey ahead.

As the event progressed, local community leaders expressed their support for the initiative, recognizing its potential to transform not just the students but also the broader society. Many attendees spoke of the importance of fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and financial literacy from a young age.

With the Kuza School Challenge set to expand to more schools across Uganda, the momentum is building for a nationwide movement. Plans are already underway for an inter-school competition that promises to showcase the best and brightest ideas, further inspiring students to innovate and collaborate.

The launch of the Kuza School Challenge at Kabojja International School marks a pivotal moment in Uganda’s educational journey. By blending financial literacy with social responsibility, Liberty Life Assurance Uganda is not just preparing students for personal success; they are nurturing a generation of compassionate leaders ready to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.
