Pastor Aloysius Bugingo, the House of prayer minister and director of Salt Media Group has been rushed to Mulago referral hospital in critical condition.
Gunmen opened fire at Pastor Bugingo’s car on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 evening in Namungoona, surviving narrowly but his driver identified as Richard Muhumuza died instantly.
Muhumuza who has been Bugingo’s personal friend and he has left behind a four months old baby.
Pastor Bugingo is reportedly out of danger after he was promptly rushed to hospital. Police quickly rushed to the scene of crime and secured the area.
One of Salt Media’s bosses Ssenkubuge Siasa said upon visiting Bugingo Mulago hospital, that the pastor said his assailant had intended to finish him too, and he was only alive “by the grace of God”.

It’s reported that the assailant pelted over 13 bullets at the co-drivers seat, killing Richard who has been Pastor Bugingo’s aide.
It’s alleged that Bugingo who was driving at the time of shooting survived the assassination after he pulled the handbrake and fell down the steering. Two bullets slightly touched him on the arm and back, accordingly to sources.
It’s said after the attack, Bugingo attempted to chase the assailant but failed to disable him. He therefore tried to drive the deceased to Mulago who was pronounced dead on arrival.
