Yesterday , H.E President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni held a consultative meeting with a delegation of Canada NRM Chapter led by Fred Kinene, SPA/Diaspora, Ambassador Abbey Kigozi Walusimbi, NRM Secretariat & Government Officials from Office of the President, at State House Entebbe.
The centrepiece of discussion was Diaspora matters; the forthcoming Canada NRM Chapter Symposium, and a High level Stakeholders Conference on Labour Externalization.
In his remarks, President Museveni commended the Leadership of Canada NRM Chapter on the decision to organize the maiden Canada NRM Chapter Symposium, which will take place from July 8-July 10 in Canada. He thanked the team from Canada because this will be an opportunity for participants to learn about patriotism, investment, and how one will be able to partake of the vast opportunities in Canada. The President said he was happy with the delegation because of being patriotic, innovative, and for trying to create job opportunities for Ugandan Nationals.
In the same spirit, the President applauded Senior Presidential Advisor on Diaspora Affairs, Ambassador Abbey Kigozi Walusimbi for his tremendous efforts in building a robust Diaspora Community. He also welcomed the idea of staging a Stakeholders Conference on Labour Externalization. This conference, the first of it’s kind will attract all Labour Recruitment Agencies from across the Country in a bid to streamline and harmonize the sector.
Notably, the Senior Presidential Advisor/SO & Commander Land Forces, Lt. Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, thanked the delegation for contributing towards Uganda’s economy, and supporting Government Programs.
The meeting was also attended by Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, Moses Byaruhanga, Senior Presidential Advisor on Youth & Gender Affairs, Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, Head of External Affairs-NRM Secretariat, Maj. Pollar Awich.
