A fatal accident has claimed the life of a Police officer attached to Kabale Central Police station in Kabale district.
According to Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson, the deceased is Sgt. Turinawe Justus.
Maate says the accident involved Motor Vehicle reg no LG0001_037 and a grader attached to Kabale district local government driven by Valence Kyarisima who is currently on the run.
Maate adds the accident occurred at Kabale main roundabout from where Sgt. Turinawe was rushed to Kabale referral hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Maate noted that the scene was visited by IP Twinobuhamizo Oc traffic, postmortem done, body handed over to relatives for burial and Motor vehicle parked at CPS Kabale pending IOV inspection.
He further said that inquiries have been initiated to ascertain the rightful cause of the accident.
The case of fatal accident has been registered at Kabale Central Police Station under reference number TAR 41/2022.
