The Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje has relieved Sheikh Burhan Bagunduuse of his duties as district Kadhi of Masaka.
Sheikh Muhammad Murshid Luwemba, the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council- UMSC Secretary for Religious Affairs said in a September 16th 2021 letter that Sheikh Bagunduuse’s services were terminated with immediate effect.
Sheikh Bagunduse’s termination follows his successful Impeachment by Masaka Muslim District Joint Session Committee, which found him guilty of incompetence, poor working methods contrary to the well laid down UMSC Administrative Procedures, Rules, and Regulations in the Constitution and Standing Orders.
He is also accused of failure to comply with his lawful suspension from Office on Feb 19, 2021 to pave way for investigations and refusal to handover the Office to the Care- Taker Kadhi Sheikh Badru Uzairu Wasajja and exhibiting indiscipline by deliberately fueling confusion among Muslims.
