Police in Rubanda district are investigating circumstances under which a man perished in an accident.
The fatal accident involved motor vehicle registration number UBB 933G Fuso truck that was being driven by Kisige Joseph, 44.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi region spokesperson speaking to watchdog Uganda said the motor vehicle was travelling from Kisoro to Kabale loaded with beans carrying two male adult occupants whose particulars could not be established.
“One died on spot and the driver plus the second occupant were taken to Kabale regional hospital in critical condition” Elly Maate said.
Maate said Police visited the scene, and the vehicle was towed to the police station.
The preliminary cause of accident, according to Maate was reckless driving because driver failed to negotiate a blind bend on a slope and went off-road on the right side hitting a culvert water channel and the front cabin got bungled trapping them inside.
The accident occurred on 5/10/2019 at about 10 am at Rwamuyora along Kabale-Kisoro Rd Rubanda District.
This case has been registered at Rubanda police under file number TAR 51/2019.
