Mubende primary schools get thunder arrest systems

The Ministry of Education and Sports together with Mubende District Local Government have on Monday installed new thunder arrest systems in 25 primary schools as safe guards to natural disasters.

Last year four Pupils died of lightning at Kabyuma Primary School in Kitenga, and many suffered severe injuries at Kasambya Primary School in Kasambya Town Council.

Out of the 92 Primary schools in Mubende district, only 52 of to date have lightning arrestors with new beneficiaries of Rabagabo Primary schools, Kyamukoona RC Primary schools, Biwanga RC Primary schools s, Katoma Primary, Mugungulu Primary schools and several others.

Mubende District Education Officer Benson Kayiwa speaking to our reporter said Mubende district has always been at risk and they are soliciting for more funds to have all the schools guarded.
He put on notice all private school proprietors to also do the same.
