Rubaga South Member of Parliament Kato Lubwama, has advised artistes not to waste time and money in politics because they don’t stand a chance of attaining any political office in the 2021 elections.
According to Lubwama, most artistes who are eyeing the different political office seats in government lack discipline and for that, they can’t make be successful in their endeavors.
So far, several artistes who include Jose Chameleone, Dr Hilderman, Victor Kamanyo, Ronald Mayinja, Khalifa Aganaga, and Geoffrey Lutaaya among others have shown interest in joining the forthcoming political races.
But Lubwama told uncut on Monday that the only artiste who can see himself in a political office is Hillary Kiyaga alias Dr Hilderman, because he is much disciplined and has the qualities of a good leader.
“It’s only Hilderman who can make it in politics out of the many artistes gearing to join Parliament. The other who can try is Ronald Mayinja, but the problem with him is that those people of Gomba who he wants to represent are NRM diehards, and they want a lot of money. Mayinja is my friend and I know that his biggest problem in life is giving out money, so that will be very challenging to him,” he said.
Hilderman is set to race with NRM’s Amelia Kyambadde for the Mawokota North Parliament seat come 2021.
During an interview with Watchdog Uganda recently, Hilderman said that Kyambadde has been in the office for over 10 years, and its time for her to give a chance for others to take on.
“I am planning to meet up with Kyambadde face to face and explain to her mypolitical ambitions and convince her to retire, because all I want is a health competition and Kyambadde is my good friend. I have been behind her campaigns for all the years,” he said.
