Winnie Byanyima speaks out on sister’s house search, pins police boss

Police cordoned off and conducted a search at the home of Edith Byanyima on Wednesday.

Edith is a sister to Winnie Byanyima; the Oxfam International Executive Director and also wife to former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party president.

Police alleged that they got Intelligence reports that there was impending criminal activity at the  and by the end of the day they confiscated 24 red napkins found in Edith’s home in Muyenga.  police said the recovered napkins were going to be used to incite the public.  The recovered napkins were going to be used to incite the public, according to the police.

The operation was led by D/ASP Godfrey Kutesa.

After the incident, Winnie, in a tweet, accused Deputy Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sabiiti Muzeyi for ordering the search after suspecting her sister of distributing People Power T-shirts.
