What started as a dream came to reality last night.
A young pleasant lady from Manchester, Peninah Wampamba who dared to contest for Miss Uganda-UK defeated 10 other contestants to be crowned Miss Uganda UK 2018/2019.
It all started with a visit and a talk by Miss Uganda UK crew to the Luganda service in Manchester last May to share their experiences and explain what the peagant was about. As a result, many young girls from Manchester got inspired and attempted to contest, but Peninah, who doubles as a Sunday School teacher took it forward and the whole Ugandan community in North West came together to support her. And guess what, she didn’t disappoint. Now she’s made history by convincingly winning the hearts of the distinguished panel of judges who announced her as the winner for the pageant.
