Kyaddondo East MP, Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine who was arrested on Monday in Arua town alongside several opposition politicians, on Thursday appeared before a closed session of the General Court Martial in Gulu.
UPDF spokesperson Brig. Richard Karemire said in a statement that Bobi Wine was charged with unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
He was “charged under S 119 (1) (h) of the UPDF Act, 2005 on accounts of unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition”.
After his trial, Bobi Wine was airlifted to Makindye military barracks.
However, according to his one of his lawyers, the legislator was badly tortured and apparently he is in poor health in that he can hardly talk or walk.
The lawyers added that his face is swollen and cannot see because of the torture by SFC soldiers.
(The photo above is a screen shot from one of his music videos Freedom and probably it looks like he knew this time of severe torture will befall him).
