Independent candidate Kasiano Wadri has been confirmed as the newly elected Arua Municipality Member of Parliament.
Wadri who is currently in detention and is expected to appear in the army court on Thursday over possession of a firearm defeated 11 other candidates including NRM’s Nusura Tiperu and FDC’s Bruce Musema.
The Arua Municipality seat fell vacant following the murder of Ibrahim Abiriga who was the area MP.
The former Terego County MP garnered 6,421 votes whereas his closest competitor Tiperu got 4,988 votes.
