The Kajara County Member of Parliament Timuzigu Michael Kamugisha has called upon government and stakeholders to tighten the belts of advocating for the boy-child education alongside girls’ education if the country is to develop at the same pace.
Timuzigu noted that government had put much emphasis on girls only left behind boys which has accelerated wrong elements among the boy children.
According to Timuzigu since the Ugandans have embraced the girl education it is time for them to switch to the education of boys to fill the gap which has been widened for so long.
“Some boy children have resorted drug abuse, petty jobs and dropped from schools because their parents and government ventured into girls only, he said.
He made the remarks on Sunday as chief guest at St Peters Day service for Kabumba C.O.U in Nyabihoko sub county Kajara County Ntungamo district.
St Peters Day is celebrated every 29th of June every year and Kabumba COU which was named St Peters has every year celebrated the day.
Timuzigu also asked men to mind about their families by changing their behavior in order to have happy families.
He challenged public to be vigilant on security issues and report any suspicious person in their areas to CL1 and authority person.
The Dean St Peters cathedral Bweranyangi West Ankole Diocese Rev Can Wilson Tumuhairwe appealed to all Christians to use the authority given them diligently as St Peter did.
The lay reader of St Peters COU Kabumba parish Ivan Tayebwa Gamba Nokora hailed the cooperation among the Christians.
Over shs5 million was raised.
