One of the oldest political parties in Uganda, Uganda people’s Congress(UPC) has called for the formation of grass-root structures and urged it’s members to advise local people to contest on UPC ticket.

This Was revealed by the party Spokesperson Osinde Michael Orach on Tuesday.
UPC party was started by former president of Uganda, the late Dr. Apollo Milton Obote and in 1960’s, it was the most famous political party in the country.
As of today, UPC has only 6 seats in the Ugandan Parliament.
While speaking to our reporter, the Kigezi regional vice chairperson Viola Nahabwe said that the party still has power to lead the country despite having the smaller number of legislators in Parliament.
She noted that the party is very expectant to win most of the local Council elections slots.
“UPC will win most of the local Council sits in the coming elections because the ruling party has failed a lot and what UPC did in 1960’s is still seen up to-date” she said.
