Yamaha Motor Company has announced a shs10 million sponsorship package this afternoon to the Masaza football cup 2018.
This was announced by the region Marketing Manager Mr Kayiwa Enock Mutumba at Bulange Mengo during the tournament launch.
Kayiwa said that Yamaha has given in a trophy to be won worth Shs 3million, a Yamaha Crux motor cycle that is to be won by the tournament top scorer worth shs4million, a cheque of Shs 2million plus branding worth Shs 1million.
” We are doing this to give back to the football community since its one of the most followed sport.” Said Kayiwa.
He added that they shall be visiting carious places where the Masaza shall be played and they shall be giving awards to various fans of the game.
Kayiwa further thanked the Buganda Kingdom for giving them such a great platform to give back to the community.
The Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga on receiving the motor cycle and the cheque thanked the management of Yamaha for moving together with the activities of the Kingdom.
He however cautioned teams that he is not ready to witness any team that fights.
” It feels sad to see a player or a fan of a certain team fighting. This does not bring the picture of togetherness. ” noted Mayiga.
The tournament is expected to be officially opened by the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi where Gomba shall host Buwekula at Kabulasoke.
