Pharmacists under their umbrella body the Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda (PSU) have resolved to adopt a title ‘Doctor’ for all registered practitioners in the Uganda.
“In an effort to harmonize professional representation within the region and in accordance with the PSU general assembly resolution of 20 October 2017, the council has with immediate effect adopted the title ‘Dr’ for all Pharmacists registered in Uganda,” public notice partly reads.
The Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda (PSU) is a professional body of pharmacists in Uganda established under the Pharmacyand Drugs Act (1970),cap 280of the laws of Uganda. The society is governed by the council of the Pharmaceutical society of Uganda whose mandate is to secure the highest practicable standards in the practice of Pharmacy.
