NTV news anchor and reporter Sheila Nduhukire is a lucky girl. She has met most powerful people in the country thanks to her journalistic talent. On Thursday morning, Sheila has who interviewed among others President Museveni, First Lady Janet, First Son Muhoozi Kainerugaba among others, also had a rare chance to meet Kabaka Ronald Mutebi. The Kabaka was in the company of Mengo top honchos including Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga and Nelson Kawalya, speaker of Buganda Lukiiko.
And Sheila, a Rotarian who was attending the Rotary District Conference and Assembly at Imperial Resort Hotel Entebbe, that the Kabaka addressed and condemned corruption eating up the country. She however didn’t miss a chance to show her allegiance to the Kabaka. She went on her twos, and greeted “Magulu Nyondo, the Lion of Buganda”. The TV star’s photograph greeting the Kabaka has since gone viral, as Sheila has been praised for upholding cultural values and demonstrated publicly that kneeling has nothing to do with the past generations.
The Rotary District Conference and Assembly is the 93rd for District 9211 which is Uganda and Tanzania. It is an annual event and marks the end of a District Governor’s year of leadership and ushers in a new one. The current governor is Kenneth Mugisha.
Some commentators are asking Sheila to get an exclusive interview with the Kabaka for her viewers on NTV after she posted “Nga nfukamidde mbuuza Ssaabasajja Kabaka. Owangaale, Magulu Nnyondo”.
We wish Sheila scoops this one too!
