Uganda National Drug Authority (NDA) has in the past few days closed several pharmacies for operating without valid 2018 licenses issued by the Authority, contrary to section 14 of the National Drug Policy and Authority Act, Chapter 206 of the Laws of Uganda.
According to NDA, the closed pharmacies will be re-opened as soon as they each acquire a 2018 NDA-issued license.
The closed pharmacies are;
Mediva Pharmacy located in Mutungo
Safe Script Pharmacy located in Mbale
Glory Pharmacy located in Mbale Taxi Park
Avion Pharmacy located in Kirombe
Kevad Pharmacy located in Kitintale
Wellness Pharmacy located in Kiganda, Mubende
Tash Pharma Pharmacy located in Mbuya Kinawataka
Western Pharmacy located in Kabwohe
Salient Pharmacy located in Buloba
Rideout (Elton) located in Nalukolongo
Pulse Pharmacy located in Hoima
Greenfield Pharmacy located in Kigumba, Kiryandongo
Previous Pharmacy located in Mubende
Kisuki Pharmacy located in Bundibugyo.
