Kisoro Police recover abandoned gun with 22 rounds of live ammunition

Kisoro- Police on Sunday at Rukolo village, Nyakabingo parish , kyahi subcounty Kisoro District recovered an AK47 rifle with 22 rounds of live ammunition.

Kigezi Region Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident adding that one Tushimyimana Ronald 17 years and Buchanayandi Samuel 16 years both residents of the above village while grazing cows in the same area sat on a fenced wall made of stones when one Tushimyimana picked a stone from the fence to throw it to a cow, that’s when he saw some thing that was later identified to be a rifle.

Police from kyanika, visited the Scene and investigations into the matter are ongoing.

Police commended the vigilance and cooperation by this particular community in Kisoro, asking all the other members of the public to do the same in the the fight against crime and criminality in our various localities.
