CECAFA 2017: Uganda Cranes humble South Sudan after a 5-1 win

Uganda Cranes humiliated South Sudan 5-1 during group B of the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup tournament at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega on Friday afternoon.

Derrick Nsibambi scored twice as Milton Karisa, Hood Kaweesa and Nico Wakiro Wadada were all on the score sheet for Uganda Cranes.

Karisa got the first as early as the 7th minute when he controlled Muzamiru Mutyaba’s high ball from the left before he rocketed the ball at the near post of the goalkeeper.

Kaweesa’s goal arrived on 10 minutes with Isaac Muleme providing the assist from the left side of the field.

The first of Nsibambi’s two goals came on the half hour mark with a stunning long range effort way outside the box.

Nsibambi also scored again five minutes after the second half kicked off and Wadada got his late in the game with 5 minutes to go.

South Sudan’s consolation came from Luak Wol in the 25th minute.

Tom Masiko was the only Uganda Cranes player booked.

For the victory, Uganda ascend aloft group B with 4 points, same as Burundi (Uganda has better goal difference).

Ethiopia has three points and South Sudan is bottom with one point.

Last Group Games:

Uganda will play Ethiopia in Kakamega as Burundi takes on already eliminated South Sudan.
