Police in Entebbe has intensified it’s community Policing activities in a bid to sensitize the residents to be security conscious and alert as the Christmas Festive Season Approaches.
OC Manyago Police Post C/ASP Matsiko Kanuma during a community Policing meeting with Hotel Owners in Manyago zone on Tuesday appealed to the residents to work with Police to ensure that wrong elements are identified and apprehended.
Matsiko called upon the Hotel owners and residents in Manyago zone who employ security guards and maids to advise them on the various security tips and measures adding that thugs and robbers often masquerade as Umeme and National Water staff in order to execute their robbery missions.
Matsiko noted that whenever the festive season approaches, crime tends to rise because people are hunting for money to spend during Christmas and New Years Day.
He noted that Police through the day and night patrols has been able to fight the thugs and criminals who have been terrorizing Manyago residents and hotel owners.
The Manyago LC1 Chairperson Judith Sserunkuma tasked the Police not to relax but instead intensify patrols for criminals most especially those that engage into marijuana smoking oftenly use Guda Forest and Botanical Gardens in Manyago zone as their hideouts to plan for their robbery missions.
