The organisers of the Airtel FUFA Awards have added another category to cater for the upcoming talent in refereeing for the FUFA Juniors League.

The new category is the FUFA Upcoming Referee of the Year bringing the total of Awards Categories to 12.

‘We value so much the efforts put in by the young referees officiating in the FUFA Juniors League. A project for the young referees started two years ago and there has been tremendous improvement and enthusiasm from this group’ said FUFA Communications Manager Ahmed Hussein.

‘The procedure for selection of nominees will be done amongst the young referees to get the winner who will be crowned on 1st December, 2017 at Speke Resort Munyonyo’

Hussein added;

‘This new category is different from the FUFA referee of the year that caters for the rest of officials who handle matches authorized and organized by FUFA’

With the FUFA Juniors league in its fourth year running now, innovations have been started to improve in all aspects of the league designed to cater for players who fall under the age group of 18. However the initial three seasons were for players Under 17.
