Back to back champions of the Azam Uganda Premier League Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) put up a spirited show against SC Villa in Masaka, unfortunately they lost 2-1.
The highly anticipated encounter had the host get an early goal through midfielder Allan Kyambadde after just four minutes.
Kyambadde capitalised on a clearance by Habib Kavuma before sending a powerful shot beating captain of the day Benjamin Ochan in the KCCA FC goal.
There was an early change though for KCCA as Sadam Ibrahim Juma replaced Allan Kateragga in midfield.
There wasn’t much to write home about the entire game that later turned physical and rough, to the frustration of the champions.
A few minutes into the second half Derrick Nsibambi and Issac Muleme replaced Patrick Kaddu and Mustafa Kizza respectively.
Ten minutes to full time, KCCA won a free kick, Saddam Juma swung it in before Timothy Awany made the connection to level matters.
When it looked like the game was destined for a stalement, Villa won a free kick few metres away from the 18-yard box.
Ibrahim Kiyemba swung it in, Martin Kizza rose highest to shoot it past Ochan.
And its how the game ended, KCCA FC losing for the first time this season ahead of its next home tie against Masavu on November 4th, 2017.
