MP Nandala Mafabi still held at Mbale Police over Age Limit protest

On Friday police arrested Budadiri West county MP Nathan Nandala Mafabi after leading a demonstration in Mbale town against the removal of presidential age limit.

Information reaching us indicates that the legislator is still held at Mbale Police up to now.

Sowedi Mansur Elgon police PRO confirmed that Nandala is being held at CPS Mbale and is going to be charged for inciting the public and warned that they are not going to allow any  MPs from other districts to hold public rallies in Mbale.

Mafabi is in police custody with two other youth who were commanding crowds to protest against the contentious age limit bill.

Police had to use live bullets and teargas to disperse off the protesters who were chanting ‘togikwatako’.
