The unit’s report was based on cases reported against police officers around the country between January and June this year and it indicated that officers under Kampala Metropolitan led in taking bribes, general misconduct and neglect of duty.

According to Vincent Ssekate, the spokesperson of the Professional Standards Unit, out of 1271 cases , Kampala Metropolitan Police has the highest number of officers who have be reported for taking bribes, cited for misconduct and neglecting their duties with 469 cases.

While Kampala Metropolitan police lead the list of rogue officers, Arua comes second with 106 cases lodged against police officers in that jurisdiction.

Kabale and Moroto each registered one case, making the two regions the most disciplined and least corrupt.
