FUFA has opened up applications for the job of Uganda Cranes Coach. The announcement was made by the FUFA CEO Edgar Watson at the weekly press conference held on Wednesday morning at FUFA House, Mengo.

Eligible persons are requested to send in their applications through vacancy@fufa.co.ug starting 23rd to 29th October 2017.

‘Applications are now open for the Uganda Cranes job and qualified applicants from Uganda and abroad can apply’ said Watson.

He emphasized that only applications received through the channel will be considered. A panel of 5 members headed by African football legend Kalushya Bwalya has been appointed to handle the first vetting process of those interested in the job.

Other members on the committee include Edgar Watson (FUFA CEO and member of the CAF Technical Committee), Asuman Lubowa (FUFA Technical Director), Livingstone Kyambadde (Chairman Uganda Football Coaches’ Association) and a representative from the National Council of Sports.

‘We have considered Kalusha Bwalya because of his legacy in African football as a player, an administrator and a member of the CAF Technical Committee’ added Watson.

The shortlist will be presented to the FUFA Executive for the final decision on who becomes the next Uganda Cranes coach. A new coach will be announced by 15th November, 2017.

Moses Basena has been in charge of the Uganda Cranes since the resignation of Serbian Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic in August this year.
