A goal in each half from Milton Karisa and Steven Mukwala witnessed Vipers register a resounding 2-0 victory against Masavu at the Fisheries Training Institute on Tuesday.
Karisa raced onto a long ball from goalkeeper Ismail Watenga before holding off defender Moses Kiggungu to finish off with a left footed shot on 38 minutes.
Before the decisive moment, there were half goal scoring opportunities created.
Mukwala headed narrowly out after 15 minutes off a teasing free-kick from team captain Nico Wakiro Wadada.
Four minutes later, Hassan Kalega had a low drive from distance easily saved.
Dan Birikwalira tested the Masavu goalkeeper Mansoor Mutumba with a 40 yard free-kick as the opening stanza neared the half hour mark.
Midfielder Tom Masiko had a shot off target after being set up by Karisa shortly before the opening strike that lit up hundreds of the Venom supporters who thronged Entebbe including the club director Lawrence Mulindwa.
As the second half kicked off, Mandela replaced a limping Karisa, a change that further ignited the visitors.
Vipers resumed business from where the first half had been halted.
Another tempting long ball over the Masavu defenders found Mukwala who coolly finished off the advancing goalkeeper for the second goal.
On the hour mark, Masiko paved way for Erisa Ssekisambu before Baden Mujahid was introduced barely 10 minutes left on the clock.
This was Vipers’ third victory of the campaign as Venoms remain unbeaten in the opening 4 matches.
Vipers leap frog Police to go top of the tap standings with 10 points.
