Vipers Sports Club has continued to prepare for the 2017/18 Azam Uganda Premier League with a 2-0 victory against Nkumba Super Eagles at the Wagagai play ground on Wednesday.
Mousa Mbayi and Erisa Ssekisambu scored the two quick first half goals in a well-attended match also watched by the club president Lawrence Mulindwa.
Second half substitute Steven Mukwala missed adding to the goal tally in the second half when his penalty was saved by the goalkeeper.
Vipers head coach Miguel Do Costa used the build again as a preparatory platform for the new season, introducing a couple of players in the second half.
Benjamin Nyakoojo, Deus Bukenya, Mike Sserumaga, Dan Birikwalira, Steven Mukwala and Aziz Kemba were all introduced in the second half.
Meanwhile, the game marked the official opening of the Nkumba – Bendegele fans’ branch.
Mr Mulindwa encouraged the branch leaders to organize a mini tournament in a bid to lure more fans for the club.
He donated a set of jerseys and four playing balls.
