We are pleased to provide you with a Media Measurement report with audience statistics on Top TV Stations and Top Radio Stations for Quarter 1 2017 in Uganda, where the GeoPoll Media Measurement service is currently available .
Radio
Using the daily data collected through GeoPoll’s Media Measurement Service, GeoPoll has analyzed the top Radio stations at the national level in Uganda for Q1 2017. We examined both ratings and share for the top stations in Uganda. The below chart shows the average ratings for the top stations throughout the day:
According to the graph, Capital FM achieves the top spot consistently throughout the day nationally with its highest point being between 6-8AM with an average rating of 3.93. CBS Radio is the second in position between 6-10AM and 8-10PM. There is a close range between CBS and Radio West at 6-8PM with an average rating of 1.77 and 1.78 respectively. The rest of the times Radio West is second in position. NBS takes the fourth position throughout except at 10-12AM where it ties with CBS Radio. There is a stiff competition amongst the other radio stations throughout the day.
GeoPoll also examined average share for Q1 2017:
Amongst the top 10 radio stations in Uganda, Capital FM takes the lead in share with an average of 8.7% followed by Radio West with a share of 4.4%, slightly higher than CBS Radio, which takes third with an average of 4.2%.
The high share for other stations outside the top 10 indicates a large number of radio stations in Uganda which broadcast at a regional level.
Television
Using the daily data collected through GeoPoll’s Media Measurement Service, GeoPoll has analyzed the top TV stations in Uganda for Q1 2017. We examined both ratings and share for the top stations in Uganda. The below chart shows the average ratings for the top 10 stations during the peak hours, from 19:00 to 21:30:
NTV consistently takes the leading spot nationally in ratings during peak hours with its highest ratings being at 9PM with an average of 9.11. Bukedde is the second in the lead with its highest ratings being at 9.30PM with an average of 4.50. The third in the lead is NBS with an average rating of 2.97 at 9PM. There is a stiff competition amongst the other stations during the peak hours.
GeoPoll also examined average share across the entire day during Q1 2017.
The highest share nationally goes to NTV with an average of 30.1% followed by Bukedde with an average of 16.6%. NBS takes the third share position with 11.8% followed by Bukedde2 with a share of 9.5%.
