Police yesterday arrested Herbert Kabafunzaki, the state minister for labour, employment and industrial relations, who is also the MP Rubanda County, for allegedly soliciting for a shs30million bribe.

Kabafunzaki was arrested together with Mr. Brian Mugabo, a clearing agent, for allegedly soliciting a bribe from the proprietor of AYA Group.

Yuasa

Kabafunzaki had recently been in the media for intervening on behalf of an unnamed lady who had accused the AYA boss, Hamid Latif, of sexual harassment.

But when we went through our archives we landed on the minister’s Facebook post back in 2015.

In this post Kabafunzaki was against corruption where he said corruption is an enemy of development and good governance.

“Corruption is the enemy of development and good governance. It must be got rid of, both the government and the people at large must come together to achieve this national objective,” Kabafunzaki posted on 9 May, 2015.

So now he leaves us confused, was he really genuine about his statement or he was just pulling a populist move?
