Muslims of the Tabliq sect at Nakasero Mosque have distanced themselves from the murder of AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi who was shot dead yesterday near his home in Kulambiro, a Kampala suburb.

According to Muslims, there is no connection between the seven day ultimatum and Kaweesi killing. Last week Muslims had given police an ultimatum to return their seized property and cover for damages caused during the mosque raid or else they wait for the outcome.

Kifampa Siraje, the Nakasero mosque spokesperson said there’s no slight conncetion between the ultimatum and the murder of police spokesperson because they are not soldiers; they don’t have guns or connections.

“The big question would be, is there anyone who is going to murder and address the press?” Kifampa said.

He further added that yesterday was the day they had agreed to present a document to parliament asking the speaker to intervene in the matters but upon hearing about the murder of Kaweeesi, they postponed the petition.

He further insists that Muslims want their taken property back, failure to do so, they are going to pursue legal means.
