Information reaching us indicates that Kampala Sheraton Hotel has not survived the axe of being taken over.

Like Crane Bank, the state of the art hotel is now under a new management after successfully reaching a deal last month with Marriot International, a world’s largest hotel company.

Yuasa

Sheraton Hotel is now part of Marriot Hotel also known as Marriot International with over 6,000 properties in more than 120 countries and territories.

Reliable information reveals that Sheraton Hotel’s takeover came after Marriot International acquiring Starwoods Hotels and Resort Worldwide yet Sheraton Hotel is part and parcel of Starwoods Hotels.

Marriot acquired Starwoods Hotels in October last year at $13 billion after management putting it up for grab in April 2015.

The takeover by world’s hotel brand is expected to elevate Sheraton Hotel Uganda from a four star to a five Star Hotel and also compete directly with Kampala Serena Hotel which is already a five star hotel.
