UTL, Airtel settle their interconnection issues, customers can now make calls

Uganda Telecom Limited has settled its interconnection differences with its counterpart Airtel Uganda and now its customers can now call and recieve calls from Airtel.

According to UTL chairman of Board Stephen Kaboyo, the management of Airtel and Uganda Telecom resolved all the issues related to contractual obligations and are pleased to announce it is business as usual.

“Uganda Telecom regrets any anxiety the announcements made early this week may have caused its customers,” Kaboyo noted.

Early this week, Airtel Uganda terminated the interconnection agreement and interconnection services between the two telecommunication companies.
