By Najibu Mulema

Jinja Magistrate Court Judge, Eva Luswata has refused to hear another bail application for the re-arrested Rwenzururu King Charles Wesley Mumbere.

Justice Luswata says her calendar is so occupied so she is unable to hear anyother bail application for Omusinga.

“I won’t handle Omusinga’s bail application again,” She said.

On 13 January, 2017, Luswata granted Mumbere bail but after some few hours, the king was re-arrested by police and slapped with fresh charges which included murder.

However, all is not lost for Mumbere as Justice Elebu of Jinja High Court takes over the hearing. He has already taken up the file and set 6 February, 2017 to hear the bail application.

Mumbere was arrested last year in November after security operatives raided his palace on allegations that him and some of his subjects were involved in some treasonous acts.

During the course, more than 100 people lost their lives and 152 royalists were arrested along with their king.

They are being charged with 41 counts which include; murder, treason, aggravated robbery among others.
