Why Parliament wants faded socialite Bryan White behind bars

Parliament through its Human Rights committee has requested Uganda Police to immediately arrest former socialite Brian Kirumira, popularly known as Bryan White.

The committee found Bryan White guilty on allegations of sexual abuse and violation of human rights.

Bryan White is accused of sexually abusing Stella Nandawula and Vivian Mutanda. He is also pinned for defiling a 17-year-old Leticia Nabulime among other women who he had confined in his house for over a year.

According to the report presented to Parliament on Thursday by the committee, Bryan White allegedly facilitated abortions that were carried out by these three girls as he would pay the required amount and even provide transport and police escort to them.

And with this development, Members of Parliament called for an immediate arrest of the former money bags, and requested that he should be charged for all the sexual offences committed as outlined in the presented report.

During the period when Bryan White allegedly committed these crimes, he was untouchable because he was heavily guarded by security operatives, a protected Unit meant to protect the President.

Parliament demands that all officers involved in giving security to Bryan White should also be disciplined and the former socialite charged under Section 2 of the Trafficking in Persons Act 2009.
