Veteran Emcee Edwin Katamba alias MC Kats has failed to sustain a 5-Star lifestyle, quitting his job at Pearl Of Africa Hotel (POA).
A couple of weeks after he was fired from Fame Lounge over his piling indiscipline cases, the NBS After 5 show host immediately signed a ‘5-star deal’ with a ‘5-star hotel’ to host his night show dubbed ‘Meet Celebrity Wednesday’.
Within a month period, news broke the internet on Thursday that Kat’s was fired from POA after he failed to ‘fit into’ the hotel’s standards.
Given the social media pressure, Kats came out to clarify that he wasn’t fired, but chose to quit his job because he was working under pressure to fulfil the hotel’s demands.
“I was not able to work with Pearl of Africa anymore. Not because I was fired – I wouldn’t be fired- but I quit because I feel like it was too much for me. I walked away because I’m too busy and have a lot of things to do,” he said.
Through his social media platform, Kats explained that prices of drinks at POA have been too high and it has not been too easy for him to compete with big drink up spots around town.
“It’s been great working with POA, your hospitality was awesome. 5 Star hotels have levels that are expected from them, in cases of pricing of drinks and food, the prices are almost triple compared to any normal bar in town which affects sales and profits margins,” he said.
Adding that having amid week night, competing with big brands and bars a night has not been easy but he tried anyway.
